KOKORO WARRIORS WAS FORMED IN 1989 .... The study of Martial arts is not limited to fighting! It is as much about self discovery and personal development. It can be a life time journey of learning and especially in search for truths. Perhaps the hardest step is walking into Martial arts Dojos (centre) for the first time. Martial arts have many directions and it depends on what road you wish to take. Instructors are there to assist you identify your goals, test your limits and to be the best person you can be. Zen Do Kai Martial arts will teach you how to relax, it will help you deal with those every day issues each of us confront and you will develop physical and emotional strength. The training will provide you with the opportunity to develop a higher standard of fitness. Utilising a combination of mediation, forms (Kata) and self defence techniques we will help you develop a stronger mind, body and spirit. Your increased fitness, self confidence and clarity of thought will allow you to view aspects of your life in different terms. Our instructors possess vast knowledge having many years studying various Martial Arts. If you wish to know more all you have to do is take that first step. History Wickham Dojos was formed in 1989 Wickham Dojos (Kokoro Warriors) was established in 1989 in a small farming community called Bamawm Extension. Kyoshi Matt Wickham founder of Wickham Dojos had been teaching for three years when he moved to Melbourne. He was eager to gain further knowledge of the martial arts. His time in Melbourne was used training with masters from various systems including, Aikido, Kendo, Iaido, Muay Thai and Zen Do Kai. He gained a greater insight into Martial Arts training and in particular the philosophy underpinning it. He returned to Echuca with many new and interesting ideas to enhance his student’s training and development. He opened a full time Martial arts school in the main street of Echuca teaching Zen Do Kai classes to children and adults. Since that return Kyoshi has become the highest ranked instructor in Northern Victoria. Kyoshi Matt has assisted 150 students to Black belt and Black singlet (Muay Thai-Kickboxing). Kyoshi Matt has a number of experienced and capable instructors who assist him with classes in Echuca and our brother club in Rochester.
